Springer and the chocolate factory
Apprentices present self-developed production line for transporting chocolate.
Stuhr,25.08.2022 - With an unusual project, the apprentices at Springer, the specialist for press shop and body-in-white automation, show what they have learned. In a transfer line redesigned for Toffifee packaging, the budding industrial mechanics, cutting machine operators and technical product designers are replicating the classic production process in transfer presses used in the automotive industry."Every year, we give each training course the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a joint project. Our current trainees also mastered the task with flying colors. With their project, the trainees have impressively demonstrated that they have the tools to develop innovative solutions for the automotive industry in the future," says Uwe Springer, Managing Director of Springer GmbH.
Automation specialist Springer had already presented a similar project at EuroBLECH in 2008. The transfer line for Ritter Sport chocolate at that time formed the basis for the trainee project "The Chocolate Factory". For the new project, the trainees, including four cutting machine operators, three industrial mechanics and two technical product designers, selected Toffifee packaging as elements. A particular challenge of this task was to replace the robot, which was no longer available, with their own design. The entire transfer line developed is based on real transfer lines in automotive production. Here, too, highly developed grippers, swivel arms and tooling are used to ensure the safe and frictionless transportation of structural parts.Only in this case, Toffifee packaging was used.
