Ice hockey is one of the most popular national sports in the Czech Republic and is comparable to the popularity of German soccer. This importance is also reflected in the large number of ice rinks and the importance of youth development, with new talent constantly being spotted and promoted in the local clubs.



The Extraliga is the highest league in the Czech ice hockey system. 14 professional teams compete for the Czech championship in this league. The ice hockey club BK Mladá Boleslav has been playing in the Extraliga in the Czech Republic since 2008. Springer Automation CZ s.r.o. recently became a partner of the currently leading Czech ice hockey club.
